About Us

"Know Thyself."
Sages throughout time have declared this the key to wealth and happiness. The more you know your true self, the more you experience health, abundance, fulfillment and joy.

What is OnePeoples, Inc. About?

We are a “spiritual people” who have the common interest of being about the recognition of One God as our guiding principle. We assert our ethnicity seriously by proclaiming our African heritage as the ONE bonding ingredient for the empowerment of African peoples spiritually, culturally, politically, economically, and intellectually. Our efforts are to see beyond the “isms”, and separateness, of any particular doctrine, or philosophies, that UsFolk have adopted thru the ages. We recognize our ‘uniqueness’ in that our strength in perseverance has been unmatched by any other peoples throughout history, attests to the fact that wefolk are truly blessed by the Almighty One. We, at OnePeoples, Inc., celebrate our rich culture and desire to spread this love of self throughout the diasporas by means of our newsletter. We do not promote any one particular way of life, philosophy, doctrine, religion, or political party. Therefore, we see our people as one force, one spirit, and one people.

Whom Do We Service?

From the horrific holocaust that usfolk experienced, via the so-called Atlantic slave trade, we have been forcefully dispersed in various lands only to learn the customs and languages of those who were the slave masters. We’ve learned the cultures of the French, British, Dutch, Portuguese, Italian, Spanish and German peoples to name a few. Hence, many of us have lost our proud heritages and rich culture from our Homeland and wefolk now are immersed into ways and languages that divide us. It is with great pride to know that many of usfolk have regained and returned (Sankofa) to ways of our glorious past. Some of those who have returned have now adopted the Cultures of Islam, Hebrew Israelite, Traditional African Religions (Akan, Yoruba, etc.), Ethiopianisms and Rastafari, and Khemet (Egyptian) ways of life. For those who have made that journey, we give special tribute and dedicate much of what we are trying to accomplish toward them, because we recognize we all are One people and we are determined to bring our Cultural folk together to share in our views of unity.

The Community is Our Focus

The Cultural folk we speak about are those who have dared to be out of the mainstream in their way of life. They have their own news & views, schools, events, conferences, newspapers, art forms, clothing, and social gatherings. It is our intention to highlight those things in our e-zine because the need for a collective informational source for people of the African culture is seriously lacking among any media source. We intend to publish monthly the happenings in and around our East Coast communities so that more people can be supportive and share in participating in the things that we do.

Additionally, we seek to cater, not only to Cultural folk of African decent, but also to the issues and news of the African American community in general. We desire to be that link where usfolk can come to find out what’s going on in our communities that the mainstream media doesn’t cover. Again, we see ourselves as One People, not to be divided by any particular personal doctrine some may hold.

Our staff is committed to the cause of bringing our folk together in unity with knowledge of self and information that can be useful to aid in our survival in this land. From health concerns to politics we will provide the latest of information that usfolk can utilize. We recognize that we can’t do this all alone and do need the input of community information from you, the reader. So, we do ask that you write to us, via input@onepeoples.com and give us your listings you want included in our e-zine. We want to know those private African schools, businesses, conferences, dedications, community events, etc., so that we may spread the word for ourfolk to support whatever your community is doing.

With that all said, we welcome you, our African family, for joining us and we hope to have you back with us again and again, and use OnePeoples.com as your source for alternative news, views and issues of OurFolk.

“It’s not what we wear, or how we style our hair, or where we worship, that makes us together, for it is what is inside of us that makes us OnePeople.”
